Support is needed for public policy initiatives relating to our cause. A number of initiatives are underway that can assist our cause that need support. For example, as it currently stands, any individual with over $2,000 in savings cannot receive SNAP (food stamp) benefits. Families that have assets exceeding the set limit – often just $2,000 – must spend their longer‐term savings in order to receive short‐term public assistance.
